May I call you Howard?

Had a meeting with a new client at the bank the other day. He was a tall, strong Nigerian man who had so many questions that he would barely finished asking one before starting to ask the next. When I tried to answer one of these many questions, he interrupted me saying: "Howard. May I call you Howard?" I suggested that he call me Cari instead.
